So anyway, Microsoft purchased ZeniMax who in turn owns a bunch of other companies including Bethesda.

This is a minor point but that does that mean? She has mixed feelings about most things? Whatever.

This is a just a dumb throwaway comment but it sure did trigger the nerds in the comment section.

This was part of a long “discussion” between this guy and some other nerd. This Animal Farm loving guy goes on about his Jewish grandparents leaving Russia as poor immigrants and how they came to America and became rich beyond their wildest dreams and he’s talking about fucking feudalism and how capitalism is responsible for the Magnavox and shit like this. Suck a dick, you dullard. Nobody gives a fuck about you or your grandparents. Go play with your Magnavox Odyssey.

I can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic or not. I don’t think that he is.

How does that work? I’m going to only purchase products made by worker collectives? Can I get a list of such companies?

Why do people (largely Americans) get so worked up over this? Is there ANY popular support for communism? Which presidential candidate is the communist one? These people are afraid of communists hiding under their beds.
This is a holdover from decades of anti-communist propaganda in the US. People who weren’t even born when the Soviet Union existed are still afraid of evil communists. It’s sad, really.

I’m pretty sure that there would be internet even in a society based on need rather than profit. Why wouldn’t there be? There would still be scientists and researchers and whatnot.
And a platform where you can upload videos? Yeah, I’m sure that would exist too. Or maybe it wouldn’t. Maybe there would be something better. Who knows?
By the way, YouTube is kind of a communist name, isn’t it? The original ideas were kind of communist in nature. A platform where anyone can join and talk about whatever they want. Not just for the Hollywood elites.
But yeah, without capitalism Erin probably wouldn’t be getting her hundred bucks a month from Youtube. What a tragedy that would be. She never would have moved in with Mike because without the profit motive, there would be no reason to. There would be no reason for Erin to try to use people for her own financial gain because everybody would have what they need. Erin would have a job, like everybody else.
Or maybe there would be even more automation and there would be some kind of citizen’s wage and we’d all be free to pursue our interests. Erin would maybe make videos on girly stuff or Disney or 1990s popular music. Or whatever the communist equivalents would be.
In either scenario, we wouldn’t have to endure dreadful videos about video games from Erin. Without the profit motive, there would be no reason for her to make such videos.
So capitalism is directly responsible for Erin Plays. What greater reason can there be to topple our capitalist overlords and install a dictatorship of the proletariat? I can imagine mobs of angry people with anti-Erin Plays banners marching through the streets. Erin Plays is the face of everything that’s wrong with capitalism. Greed, immorality, and deceit.
Anyway, fuck Pam. I can’t watch any more of this boring as fuck video.
